Based on the River Thames in central London, Tower Lifeboat station is the busiest RNLI station in the country.
Our crew cover the Thames from Barking to Battersea and were called out 517 times in 2016 to incidents ranging from injuries on a party boat and broken down vessels to people in the water and the occasional animal in the water. In 2016 alone our crew saved 18 lives.
Unlike many other lifeboat stations, Tower always has a crew at the station ready to go within 90 seconds of an emergency call coming in. Our 55 volunteers come from all different 'day jobs' from firecrews, bankers, TV producers, civil servants and students, and give up their time to help save lives on the Thames
This website provides information on our crews, our boat, our history, our news and how you can help us keep saving lives, as well as how you can come and visit us.
